John Gunther is a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator on the faculty of the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music. His music flows freely across genres — from the jazz tradition to collaborations with string quartets, electronic artists, and cross-cultural ensembles. A “performing composer,” he has appeared on stages around the world, from Carnegie Hall to clubs in Europe and South America.
ScaleDr grew out of Gunther’s teaching practice at CU Boulder — a tool built to make the fundamentals of jazz musicianship more accessible, interactive, and immediate for students at every level. The CU College of Music beta gives faculty and students early access to shape its development.
